Kindersley RCMP Lay Charges Following Arrest of Six Individuals Involved in Theft of Motor Vehicles

Kindersley RCMP have laid charges against six individuals following an investigation into several stolen vehicles in Eston and Kindersley. Officers also located and seized a sawed-off shotgun for further investigation.

25-year-old Nicolas Petalas from North Battleford, SK, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest for parole violations, has been charged with:

Flight from police, Sec. 320.17 of the Criminal Code;
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Sec. 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code;
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Sec. 88(1) of the Criminal Code;
Possession of a weapon while prohibited, Sec. 117.01(3) of the Criminal Code; and
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal       Code.

30-year-old Brennan Kahpeaysewat from North Battleford, has been charged with:

Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, Sec. 354(1)(b) of the Criminal Code; and
Unauthorized possession of a weapon without holding a licence, Sec. 91(1) of the Criminal Code.

22-year-old Matthew Blackstar from Moosomin First Nation, has been charged with:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Sec. 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code;
Obstructing a peace officer, Sec. 129(a) of the Criminal Code;
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and
Theft of a motor vehicle, Sec. 333.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

24-year-old Clayton Moccasin from Moosomin First Nation, has been charged with:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Sec. 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code;
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and
Theft of a motor vehicle, Sec. 333.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

24-year-old Tracy Wright from North Battleford, has been charged with:

Unauthorized possession of a weapon without holding a licence, Sec. 91(1) of the Criminal Code; and
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Sec. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.

One male youth has also been charged in relation to this investigation. His name will not be released in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Nicolas Petalas, Brennan Kahpeaysewat, Matthew Blackstar and Clayton Moccasin have all been remanded into custody and are scheduled to make their first appearance in court in Saskatoon on Friday November 18th at 10:00 a.m..

Tracy Wright was released and is scheduled to make her first appearance in court in Kindersley on Tuesday January 19th, 2020.
