Klippers’ Game Against Notre Dame Recap

By Kevin Martin

The West Central Event Centre was alive with optimism on Tuesday night as the visiting Notre Dame Hounds took on our Jr. Klippers. These conference rivals were both looking for their first win of this season.

It was a fast back and forth game with lots of hitting and well executed passing plays. Notre Dame got on the score board first but there was no quit in the Klippers as they battled back from every deficit. The topper was when Liam Bell scored with 1 second left in game to tie the score. Wow! What excitement as the fans went nuts cheering. A 5 minute 3 on 3 overtime provided some exciting plays. We even put a shot off the goal post! However, overtime did not produce a winner so we had to go to a shoot-out. Unfortunately we didn’t get the job done as Notre Dame outscored us 2 to 1 in the shoot-out.

Ethan Hilbig was selected as the 2nd star of the game. He scored 2 goals and played well defensively. Kindersley outshot Notre Dame by a margin of 40 to 25.

Next home game for the Klippers is on the Goose Festival weekend, Sept. 24th as the Melville Millionaires provide the opposition.
