KAWS Implementing Intake Freeze

KAWS recently had to share the news that, due to a severe lack of foster homes, they cannot take in any more animals at this time.

At the time of their announcement, they only had one foster home that can take dogs, and they only have a handful of kitten/cat foster homes, all of which are currently full.

They are in desperate need of foster homes. Very recently, they have had to turn away quite a few young kittens as well as some dogs, simply because there were no fosters available for them. If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time! Winter is here, and many of these kittens they have to turn away will not make it. This is the sad reality we live with. Even if you just have a spare room or area in your home that you could dedicate to some foster kitties, that would be a huge help!

They are also in need of more fosters with experience in bottle feeding kittens. They’ve had to turn away some very young kittens because they only have one foster home that can take bottle-fed babies.

Please reach out to KAWS if you have any questions. You can also fill out their online foster application at www.kaws.ca/fostering.

Because they are a small, localized rescue, they do require that you live in the West Central Saskatchewan area. If you can’t foster, please share this information with anyone who you think may be able to lend a helping hand.
