Obituaries: Irene (Moon) Pocock
1938 ~ 2022 (age 84)
On Monday Dec 5th 2022, Irene Pocock, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 84.
Irene was born Oct 8th, 1938 in Lenny, SK of Thomas and Margaret Moon. She went to high school in Perdue, and achieved her Teachers Certificate at the Normal school in Saskatoon. She taught in Beadle, SK for a time, then moved to Kindersley SK where she met her husband, Ron Pocock. They were married in October, 1961 and raised two sons, Wray and Leonard.
Irene was known for always being kind, generous and thoughtful. She was a great baker who loved to host family and friends over for coffee and treats, whether this was on the farm, or later in her condo. Irene was an active member in the church and helped with catering for any church functions. She was a founding member of the Embroiders Guild, was active with Scouts, and many community events throughout her life.
Irene is predeceased by her parents; Thomas and Margaret Moon, her husband; Ron Pocock, her brother; Lawrence, sister in-laws; Faye Moon and Frieda Moon, and brother in-law; Jack Turner. She is survived by her siblings; Shirley and bill, sons; Wray and Leonard, her grandchildren; Colby, Logan, Jessie and Brittany, and her great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 13th at the United Church Hall, Kindersley at 2:00. Flowers and donations can be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society or the United Church in Kindersley.
