Today, periods of very cold wind chills are expected as an Arctic ridge of high pressure continues to bring frigid temperatures to areas of the province.

Temperatures of -30 C along with winds of 10 to 15 km/h will produce wind chill values of -40 C or colder.

Temperatures are forecast to moderate somewhat as the morning continues, and are expected to inch up towards minus 22/23, however with the wind chill it will feel like minus 32/33. The extreme cold will return for a third night in some areas.

Elizabeth Middle School has mentioned on their Facebook page that bus drivers will contact parents if they are not running.

Please remember to bundle up if you have to venture outside, at these temperatures frostbite can occur in less than 10 minutes.
