Today, Lt-Gov. Vaugh Solomon Schofield will be presented the first poppy by Royal Canadian Legion.
Scheduled to take place at the Government House at 2 p.m. CST, the event signifies the beginning of the Legion’s annual Poppy Campaign. The poppy will be presented by Ken Box, the Legion’s Saskatchewan command president.
Funds raised through the Poppy Campaign go to support the Legion’s programs for veterans and their families. Poppies will be available to the public, beginning this Friday. Please honour our veterans by wearing one as we draw near to Remembrance Day, November 11.
