A heat dome that’s hung over B.C. and Alberta will move into the province, bringing temperatures about 10 degrees above average.
According to The Weather Channel and Accuweather, afternoon high temperatures will be near 30 degrees Celsius over the next few days and will approach 35 to 39 degrees Celsius in some regions by mid-week. Little to no reprieve from the heat is expected, as overnight lows will remain in the mid-teens. The heatwave will, at least, persist through toa the end of this week.
Remember, when the temperature soars, the risks for heat exhaustion, etc., are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Signs of heat illness are: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heatstroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
