Kindersley Culture Days Wrap-up

Kindersley Culture Days

Kindersley participated in the Culture Days last weekend. “It went really well,” said Michelle McMillan, Manager of Culture and Heritage at the Town of Kindersley. The weekend’s activities included a Creative Writing Workshop at the Kindersley Library on September 30, an open studio at the Garden Gallery on October 1, and the “K-Town Chowdown,” featuring a variety of ethnic cuisine, at the Kindersley Inn on October 2.

Children who participated in the Creative Writing Workshop enjoyed creating crafts, while the adults were able to learn about self-publishing and the various writing styles.

The open studio with Devon Coles brought out a number of families to learn about crafting pottery. Everyone had the chance to get their hands dirty and work with the pottery wheel themselves.

The six cooks who participated in the K-Town Chowdown succeeded in creating multiple ethnically diverse meals. 150-200 people turned out to sample the foods and celebrate Kindersley’s diverse culture.

Overall, McMillan was pleased with the weekend. “We’re always impressed and proud to see people coming out [for community events].”
