Current Opportunity
We are currently looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Driver Development & Safety Services as a Driver Examiner. This is a temporary, part time opportunity located at the Kindersley Claims Centre.  This role provides the successful incumbent an opportunity to gain invaluable customer service experience.

This is an extended hours opportunity and hours worked are based on business requirements and customer demand reflected by season. April through October, the successful candidate may work an average of 24 hours per week Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. (35 hrs/week maximum)

Work is subject to regular light physical effort, constant visual effort and manual dexterity and co-ordination and may be subject to occasional interruptions. Work may be done in adverse weather and have dangerous elements.

Typical duties and responsibilities:

Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments

Conducts road tests for all classes of licence.
Administers written examinations, sign and vision tests.
Makes presentations at traffic safety meetings, seminars and workshops.
Answers public inquiries regarding driver licencing and interpretation of various related provincial and federal statutes.
Conducts interviews and investigations required in connection with various programs, effecting recommendations and preparing reports.
Evaluates test results and counsels applicants on corrective measures
Inspects vehicles and drivers for compliance with regulations respecting safety equipment and licensing.
Observes applicants for signs and symptoms which would indicate that a medical examinationis required before a licence is issued.
Performs related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Skill

Working knowledge of the skills and abilities required of drivers to qualify for each class and endorsement of drivers’ licences.
Working knowledge of written and oral examinations, and sign, vision, and road tests for all classes of drivers’ licences.
Working knowledge of the evaluation of driver test results.
Working knowledge of driver education and driver improvement and control programs.
Working knowledge of the Driver Licencing and Driver Training.
Regulations of the Traffic Safety Act.

Education and Experience
Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and for all classes and endorsements to complete probation.
Five years of Class 5 Canadian driving experience with at least two years of post-Graduated Driver’s Licensing (GDL) program driving experience.
Applicant is required to enroll in the CIP course as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Fluency in another language would be an asset.
