Job Title: Water Treatment Plant Operator
Department: Transportation and Environmental Services
Hours: Full-time permanent
Start date: Immediately
The Town of Kindersley is accepting applications for a full-time permanent Water Treatment Plant Operator, a position that reports to the Water Treatment Plant Manager.
This position requires 40 hours per week, working 10 days on and 4 days off. This includes weekends, holidays, and on-call schedule.
Job Requirements
- Operating the Water Treatment Plant independently, and general maintenance of the Plant
- Meter reading/replacement/installation/repair
- Filter backwash
- Filling chemical feeders
- Pump and motor maintenance
- Environmental water testing and sample collection
Necessary Skills
- Class 1 Water Treatment and Distribution Certification
- Aquatic Pesticide Certification
- Standard First Aid & CPR/WHIMIS
- Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Class 5 Drivers license
- Good record of physical fitness
- Ability to work with and respect fellow workers, management, Council, and the general public
