Roughriders finish 2015 season with 3 wins, 15 losses and dedicated fans
Fans of the Saskatchewan Roughriders may now look forward to next year, now that the final game of a dismal 2015 football season has been played.
The last game, Sunday in Montreal against the Alouettes, ended with the Riders winning 30-24 in overtime.
That pleased fans who gathered to watch the game at the Canadian Brewhouse in Regina, many of whom were keen to put the 2015 season behind them.
“Everything that could go wrong, went wrong,” Glenn Wolf said. “That’s one of those years. Hope springs eternal in Riderville though.”
Another fan, Terry Firlotte, said the 2015 outcome was far from what was expected of the team at the start of the season.
“I would have never thought that in a million years,” Firlotte said, reflecting on the club’s 3-15 record. “It looked really really promising. Injuries really took a toll on the team and took us down.”
Players and coaching staff are set to meet news media on Monday as they go through the end-of-season tradition of cleaning out their lockers at Mosaic Stadium.
