Provincial Park Campgrounds Open Today!

Camping Season is Finally Here

Saskatchewan Provincial Park campgrounds officially open for the 2019 season on Thursday, May 16.

“Opening weekend for provincial park campgrounds is always an exciting time for us,” Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Gene Makowsky said.  “This year we are encouraging campers to get out to the parks early to make the most of the 2019 season.”

This year is a new Spring discount feature for camp visitors. Visitors can camp in a provincial park from May 16 until June 24th at a discounted rate of $5/night off in any economy,  electric, or non-electric campsite. This discount allows guests to enjoy the park at more affordable rates.

According to Saskatchewan Parks, Spring is the perfect time to get out and explore what the parks have to offer as it is quieter than the busy summer season.

One note, during the Victoria Day Weekend (May 16-20) the alcohol ban will once again be in place. New this year the ban will include cannabis. This ban applies to all campgrounds and picnic areas within provincial recreation sites and parks. Several regional parks will also abide by the ban.

Parks in Saskatchewan have something for the whole family. From hiking trails to family-friendly beaches, there is fun for everyone. During the summer months several parks will be featuring a variety of programs and special events for guests of all ages.
