Recap: Klippers vs. Hawks

Despite hard resistance from the Klippers, the Nipawin Hawks took the game with the Klippers on October 18, extending their winning streak to 6 games.

“They’re a solid, solid hockey club,” stated Blaine Formadas of the Klippers.

The Hawks scored the first period’s only goal. They extended their lead by two more goals in the second period, bringing the score to 3-0. The Klippers made a valiant effort in the third, bringing the score to 4-1 by the end of the period. The shots were at 34 for the Klippers, and 27 for the Hawks.

Formadas said it was a pretty even game, but one of the challenges faced by the Klippers was adjusting to Nipawin’s smaller rink. The experience was “eye-opening” for some of the newer players.
