A new report is highlighting how traffic tickets affect Saskatoon’s city budget.
It shows there was a decrease in provincial and city traffic violations between 2012 and 2015. As a result, revenue from traffic tickets during the same period declined by just over half a million dollars.
The report says automated speed enforcement, introduced in Saskatoon in December 2014, has resulted in an increase in compliance from drivers and a reduction in Saskatoon Police Service regular enforcement.
