Saskatchewan Roughriders sign Canadian linebacker Sam Hurl to 1-year extension

National linebacker Sam Hurl has been signed to a one-year contract extension by the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

This will be Hurl’s second straight season with the Riders after the six-foot-one, 230-pound linebacker signed with the team as a free agent in 2018.

Originally selected by the Riders in the second round — 12th overall — in the 2012 CFL Draft, Hurl spent three seasons with the team before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2015.
