Small Air Craft Crash at Kindersley Airport

On April 16th,  at 1:27 pm, emergency personnel including the Kindersley Fire Department, RCMP, and EMS were dispatched to the Kindersley Regional Airport to attend to a small plane crash on the north-south grass runway. The incident involved a student pilot whose 1951 Piper PA-22 short-winged aircraft (CF-CQR) lost control during landing.  The plane flipped and was heavily damaged but remained intact. The pilot of the plane fortunately escaped with no serious injuries reported.

Town of Kindersley and Airport officials were on scene throughout the afternoon to assist in clean-up of the runway and other safety measures. An investigation is underway in conjunction with the Transportation Safety Board and Transport Canada.
