Town of Kindersley: Municipal Voting Day Details

The Town of Kindersley’s Municipal Voting Day is Wednesday, October 26—just two days away!

The voting will take place from 9:00 am to 8:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth School gymnasium, 200 5th Avenue East. Residents of Kindersley will be casting their ballots for six councilors and a mayor. In order to vote, you must be:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A citizen of Canada
  • A resident of Saskatchewan for the past 6 months
  • A resident of Kindersley for the past 3 months, OR the owner of assessable land within the Town of Kindersley for the past three months

Please come prepared to present 1 piece of valid Photo ID that shows proof of identity and proof of either residence or land ownership in Kindersley, OR 2 pieces of valid non-Photo ID showing proof of identity and proof of either residence or land ownership.

Acceptable Photo ID is government-issued, valid and includes your photo, name, and current address. Examples of this include a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence; a valid Saskatchewan ID card, issued by SGI or any motor licence issuer; or any other valid government-issued photo ID, issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial or municipal), or agency of that government, provided that it includes your name and address.

Please note that a Canadian passport is not accepted as photo ID because it does not include an address. However, it could be used as ID if it is paired with another document containing your name and address.

For those without current photo ID, it is possible to acquire non-drivers photo ID from SGI.

If you are unable to obtain photo ID before Wednesday, you can present two other pieces of information, so long as they both include your name and at least one contains your current address.

Currently, there are twelve candidates for council, and two candidates for mayor. Please see kindersleysocial.ca/webarchive/town-kindersley-candidates-municipal-election for more information on your election candidates!
