TransCanada pipeline abandonment approved in northwest Alberta

CALGARY – The National Energy Board has approved NOVA Gas Transmission Ltd.’s plan to abandon a 266 kilometre section of its Peace River Mainline system in northwestern Alberta.

The approved plan calls for the TransCanada Corp. subsidiary to remove a nine kilometre section of the pipeline running through the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation Reserve Land and leave the rest of the pipeline segments in place.
