Young Sask. actor to attend The Revenant premiere with Leonardo DiCaprio

Isaiah Tootoosis, the great-grandson of famed actor Gordon Tootoosis, will attend the premiere of The Revenant in Los Angeles.

Tootoosis, who was seven years old when CBC spoke to him this summer, plays Leonardo DiCaprio’s son in the film. It was directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro González Iñárritu (Birdman, Biutiful).

Many of the wintry, outdoor scenes were shot in Alberta. The young actor travelled to L.A. to shoot his scenes.

Tootoosis rushed through the Saskatoon airport with his mother on Tuesday to catch his plane. The premiere happens at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Wednesday night.
