Grab Your Parka, Cold Weather Is Here
Freezing Temperatures Expected for Kindersley and Area
Falling temperatures in the area have ushered in a cold snap across the west central region.
This morning began with a wind chill hovering around minus 30 degrees which might not change much throughout the day. According to Environment Canada, this morning will have a mix of sun and cloud but the thermometer will drop to minus 21 this afternoon with wind chill near minus 32.
Such temperatures bring the risk of frostbite. Be careful to cover skin when outside and dress in layers. Take frequent breaks to warm up indoors, children and elderly should minimize time outdoors. Remember, your pets can feel the cold as well!
Tonight the temperatures will be positively bone-chilling with possibly a wind chill of minus 39 overnight.
Friday will not be much better, with freezing wind chills which bring continued risk of frostbite. Saturday will be a brief warm up of minus 12 with sun before plummeting back down on Sunday with periods of snow and a high of minus 21.
Stay warm this week and continue to monitor weather updates from Environment Canada.
