‘Walk of Lights’ Was A Festive Success

Event Received Great Community Support

During December 2019, Kindersley and District Plains Museum hosted their first annual ‘Walk of Lights’. Spanning three weekends, the festive event featured beautiful light displays and Holiday fun for the whole family.

The event was organized and run by a group of volunteers who spent countless hours planning and decorating. Even the community was involved as the majority of the Christmas lights and decorations were donated by locals. It was truly a labour of love.

Attendees of the event enjoyed not only a tour of the light displays but also a host of other activities. Activities were divided between Fridays and Saturdays with sleigh rides, photos with Santa, a mini sledding hill and live music to list a few. Not to mention the hot chocolate, bakes sales and the tree auction.

Admission was by donation, with all proceeds going towards the Museum.

The event received a warm reception from the community, with over 1,300 visitors from the area arriving over the three weekends to enjoy the lights and activities.

Organizers were pleased with the result, not only with the amount of attendees but how the event was such a positive experience for everyone. The event also brought some winter traffic to the Museum and helped make the Museum a hub of activity and involvement.

In all the event was a wonderful success and organizers are already looking forward to ‘Walk of Lights 2020”!
