The creative way KAWS in Kindersley is fundraising

As COVID-19 continues to create challenges for many businesses and non-profit organizations, KAWS in Kindersley has come up with a creative fundraiser to support the animals in their care.

Over the past few days, they have rolled out their first online fundraiser called “Pay to Play,” with the first prize being a $100 Kindersley and District Co-op Gift Card.

“KAWS members wanted to find a way to fundraise and to help our local business and community. With this auction, we are able to do all 3,” says Jaisee Miller, VP of KAWS.

How the fundraiser works is, KAWS will post an item, give the number of spots available and the cost of these. Once all spots are filled, participants are then asked to etransfer their payment(s) to kaws@live.ca. Once payments have been received for all the spots, a live draw is held via Facebook, and in case you miss the live draw, results are also posted.

“These are really tough times for everyone, and it’s times like these we have to pull together and think about each other. We are all neighbours, and we need to help where we can,” says Miller.

KAWS would also like to remind everyone that from now until the end of May, all adoption fees are half price! Social distancing adoptions are done by doing virtual home checks and meet n’ greets.
