Kindersley Minor Ball COVID-19 Update

Softball Saskatchewan and the Kindersley Minor Ball Board of Directors, would like to advise everyone that all sanctioned activities are suspended, due to COVID-19, until Sunday, May 31st, 2020.
The Board of Directors continues with their weekly meetings, in addition to their regular meetings with Softball Canada and Sask Sport. It is their intention that any suspension deadlines remain short so they are able to react efficiently to the ever-changing landscape.
Will there be a Softball Season this year?
While there may be many changes regarding local league schedules, everyone involved remains optimistic there will be a softball season this year–even if it starts in June or July, with the drop-dead date for cancellation being August 1st. The affiliation deadline has been bumped to June 1st and can be pushed back again if necessary.
2020 Provincial Championships
As of this time, the 2020 Provincial Championships have not been cancelled. Instead, the May 15th Provincial Championship Registration Deadline for “A” categories has been moved to June 1st. Organizers are awaiting feedback from Provincial Championship Hosts regarding hosting Provincials in August/ early September, once they have heard back the structure and format of the competition will be determined.
2020 Canadian Champions, Western Canadian Championships and Sask. Summer Games.
A decision regarding 2020 Canadian Championships will be made in mid May. Unfortunately the Western Canadian Championships have been cancelled for this year, but the organization is now working on the 2021 championships. Lastly, the 2020 Saskatchewan Summer Games have been postponed for this summer and have tentatively scheduled for July 18th-24th, 2021.
As for Umpire Clinics, all Level 1 and 2 clinics have been moved online. Anyone interested can log onto baseballsask.ca to register, watch clinic videos, download manuals and become certified.
Kindersley Minor Ball continues to evaluate and monitor the ongoing pandemic and will provide updates in accordance to the government guidelines.
