George Floyd Protests Erupt Across Minneapolis

George Floyd died on Monday after being handcuffed and pinned to the ground by a white police officer who pressed his knee against Mr. Floyd’s neck for several minutes.

Stores were set alight and officers fired tear gas and rubber bullets as protests erupted in response to Mr. Floyd’s death in police custody.

Right now employees and elected officials at the State Capitol in St. Paul, Minn., were told to evacuate the building as a precaution on Thursday afternoon, after looting continued at stores nearby.
