Coming June 29th, Phase 4.2 Will See the Opening of Libraries, Museums and Theaters

By Mallorie Rast

Before the end of the month, Saskatchewan will be rolling out Phase 4.2 of Reopen Saskatchewan on Monday, June 29th, hard on the heels of Phase 4.1, which was released on June 22nd.

Phase 4.2 will allow libraries, museums, art galleries and both movie & live-event theatres to open to the public. Public showers and change rooms will be reopened, with retail change rooms moving to 100% capacity. Contact sports such as football, hockey, wrestling and martial arts can resume their regular activities.

Many indoor activities still remain in the restricted zone. Casinos and bingo halls, indoor pools and rinks remain closed, stopping any indoor sports or activities. The provincial government assures the public that the opening dates for those facilities will be announced within the next two weeks.

Campers planning a weekend getaway can rejoice–on Friday campgrounds will be open to 100% capacity for overnight stays and the public showers and washroom facilities will be in operation.

The public is urged to maintain social distancing and use proper handwashing techniques. Newly reopened facilities are mandated to ensure proper sanitization and cleaning is taking place in both high and low traffic areas.
