Kindersley and area can gather, socially distanced style, at the speedway located four miles west of Kindersley on Highway 7, and watch trucks, Street Stocks, and “thunders” tear up some track for only $10/person with children 6 years and younger for free.

“It’s going to be a fun weekend,” says Kindersley racer Mike Dionne, “the camaraderie of racing always makes it enjoyable, and of course winning a race or      two makes it even better,” Dionne concluded with a laugh.

Dionne has been racing full time since the mid-’90s and has travelled from Manitoba, throughout Saskatchewan and west into Alberta for these types of events. His Street Stock, 3D, is entered into this weekend’s events and Dionne is excited to see what the outcome will be.

The Flatlanders Speedway’s original location struggled with flooding issues until it moved its track location. This spring, the track had additional dirt work done, which Dionne now says is one of the finest he’s raced on yet. “I am excited to see where we can go from here, with a track like this to race on, anything is possible.”
