Volunteer with WCA!
A great message from Kim Edmunds, Executive Director, West Central Abilities Inc.

As all of you read in the last edition of the Kindersley Social, we are very excited about the progress of our new building.
All of us have been working behind the scenes to make this dream a reality. I would like to thank all the staff and other board members for their extra efforts to bring the project to where it is today.
As the story goes with most nonprofit organizations, we are always looking for volunteers. With the pandemic, our volunteering looks a little different with no hands-on volunteering with our clientele, but we are always looking for members to join our organization. Our large building project is underway we have been doing a lot of fundraising over the last five years. If you are interested in serving on WCA’s Board or volunteering in another capacity, please let us know by contacting our office at 306-463-2727. If you would like to speak to me the Board Chair -Tamara Wiebe 306-460-6197. We would be happy to hear from you.
The time commitment for attending meetings is minimal. The board meets once a month for about an hour. During the pandemic, meetings are via teleconference or in person. We also thank the Clearview Community Church for allowing us to have meetings there, where we can set up in the proper social distancing fashion. We do have sub-committees for the building and the fundraising and regular board members. If you have any experience or a desire to volunteer, please think about joining us as a great way to contribute to your local agency and keep it operating at its optimum.
The job is very rewarding especially right now with the huge building project going to break ground in the spring and seeing the results for the hard work of our dedicated staff and volunteers.
Individuals experiencing disability are always at the forefront of our services. It is rewarding to help others integrate into the community. Our new location will enable individuals to participate and access services safely. It will be a bright, happy, and well-equipped environment where everyone can thrive.
Again, if you are looking for a rewarding volunteer aspect in your life, please think about joining us and expand your experience.
