Klippers VS Weyburn

Wednesday November 8th was the date that the Weyburn Red Wings visited the “Hangar” at the WCEC in Kindersley to take on the home town Klippers.

Both teams played well and had to go to overtime to find a winner. Unfortunately, it wasn’t us. 3 on 3 in overtime is exciting to watch as you know that a mistake made by either side can mean the game is over. So with 47 seconds left in the OT, Weyburn player, Elijah Anderson scored the winner as he took advantage and got the extra point. Final score was 3 to 2 for Weyburn.

Klipper goalie, Cody “Noodles” Jaman was not as busy as his counterpart at the opposite end of the ice. The shots on goal favoured the Klips by a margin of 46 to 34. Kindersley had many high quality chances that didn’t result in goals. Weyburn took 7 penalties to our 5 and unfortunately we couldn’t convert. Well, at least we got 1 point instead of none.

Nathan DeGraves scored the 1st goal and little bit later had to be helped off the ice as he sustained an ankle injury. Official attendance was listed as 601 but it seemed like only 100 or so came out.

Next home game is Friday, November 10th when the Humboldt Broncos come a knocking at the door. Puck drops at 7:30.
