Kindersley Jr. Klippers VS Estevan

How many of you have ever taken a stuffed toy to a hockey game? Yeah, me neither! However, this was a special kind of game. This was the annual TEDDY BEAR TOSS and the fans were asked to bring a stuffed toy to throw out on the ice when the Klippers scored their first goal of the game. The Estevan Bruins came to Kindersley having beaten the Battleford Northstars in overtime the night before.

And how long did it take for the boys in blue and green to score their first goal? Well, only 25 seconds were off the clock when Easton Inglis potted his goal! It was amazing to see all the stuffed animals and toys come flying over the glass onto the ice. The rink staff, with help from the Klippers spend about 10 minutes gathering up all the toys that were tossed. 3 big containers were loaded and taken off the ice. They will be cleaned and sorted and given to the West Central Crisis Centre.

This was the night of the return of Cash Arnsten who was finally ready and healthy to play. He had been sidelined for a while going through concussion protocol and boy was his presence felt. He assisted on the first goal of the game and even scored a goal to make his comeback game that much more memorable.

It was an a night to remember. Logan Falk played strong in goal as he stopped 34 of 38 shots. His team mates didn’t sit down on the bench between shifts. They were always standing and cheering and waiting for their turn to get back on the ice. Final score was 5 to 4 for Kindersley who are now on a 2 game winning streak which they will take to Melfort on Friday December 8th.

The next home game for the Klippers is Wednesday, December 13th with the puck drop at 12:30 pm. This afternoon tilt will bring the Notre Dame Hounds back to town. This game should be sold out as all the school students are to be in attendance. Noise Noise Noise!
