Saskatoon Man in Critical Condition after Going into Medical Distress in Police Holding Cell

A 29-year-old man in Saskatoon is currently in critical condition after going into medical distress while in police custody on Saturday.

According to a press release from the Saskatoon Police Service, the man was apprehended at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Approximately an hour later, an on-site paramedic observed that the man was becoming increasingly agitated and displaying signs of a medical emergency, although the specific symptoms have not been detailed by the police.

The individual was promptly transported to the hospital for a comprehensive evaluation and is presently in critical condition, as confirmed by the authorities.

The man’s family has been informed about the situation.

The Serious Incident Response Team, which serves as Saskatchewan’s independent police oversight body, will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
