The Kindersley Museum Has Been Hard at Work!

The Kindersley Museum has been working hard during the COVID-19 closures. The spring and summer consisted of upgrades and maintenance including painting and repairing numerous buildings in our backyard exhibit area, refurbishing many donated items, and painting the floors of the main hall. We are very much looking forward to being able to have the public inside again to view our accomplishments.

Currently, we are eager to see residents from a distance at our 2nd annual Museum of Lights. The event will be hosted during the first three weekends of December both Friday and Saturday evening from 6 p.m.-10 p.m. Sundays will be reserved for private bookings. We have been working on this project since the end of September and hope to make it our biggest and best outdoor display. This year will be a drive-thru event where families will drive through our display, rather than walk. Volunteers will be directing traffic. Families are encouraged to come and leave with their immediate household. As always, the event will be admission by donation. We encourage visitors to put their donation in a Ziplock bag or envelope before attending and to drop it into the bin by the gates from their vehicle window. We also will accept mail-in donations and are looking into the possibility of e-transfers.

We would like to thank our current sponsors: SaskPower, SaskTel, SaskWater, Town of Kindersley, and Direct West for making this event possible during such difficult times. We would also like to thank our private donors, volunteers, and those in the community who have donated Christmas decoration, lights, or funding to us.

If you are interested in a volunteer opportunity, the work is not done yet! We will be meeting at a distance on Saturday, November 21st, and Saturday, November 28th. Masks are mandatory inside and outside of the Museum to ensure there is no transmission of COVID-19. Please do not attend if you are sick and consider bringing work gloves and your own industrial staplers.

Without the support of the community, we would not be where we are today, thank you Kindersley and area!
