Kindersley District Plains 2nd Annual Museum of Lights Begins Dec 4th
Thanks to last year’s success, the Kindersley District Plains Museum is kicking off their 2nd annual Museum of Lights beginning December 4th at 6 p.m.
For the first three weekends in December, the public is invited to join in the festivities this year by driving thru, rather than walking like last year, in order to abide by current government health regulations.
Volunteers have been working together on this project since September, making this year’s display even larger than last year’s.
“We have about 10 steady volunteers on the project and lots of folks who come and go. We’re happy to have everyone we do to help us continue the project during such difficult times. The project has so far taken about 30-35 hours of outside volunteer time, and countless hours from Museum Board members Eugene Heit, Clarence Janzen, and Greg Becker, ” says Anna Polsfut, Kindersley Museum secretary.
The event is, admission by donation as always, and visitors are asked to put their donation in a Ziplock bag or envelope and to drop it into the bin by the gates from their vehicle window. Currently, mail-in donations, are welcome with the possibility of e-transfer.
In addition to their light displays, the museum is having a small scale online auction, with items such as quilts and wreaths up for bid. Those interested can log on to the museum’s Facebook starting December 4th at 6 p.m.
