Thank you, Kindersley Fire
Yesterday at 11:48 a.m., Kindersley Fire was called to a structure fire in Netherhill. Despite the day’s incredibly cold temperatures, the crew remained on the scene until 6:32 p.m.
With yesterday’s average temperature sitting around -35C, dealing with fire, water, while also ensuring the public’s safety, it couldn’t have been an easy day for the crew (not that their calls are ever easy). Equipment freezes ups, slips and falls happen, while frostbite, frozen toes and fingers are a very real possibility. Firefighter’s gear can become coated in ice making it very heavy and almost impossible to bend and maneuver. When the crew returns to the station, there is the added challenge of thawing the equipment to make sure it is ready for the next call.
Kindersley Fire does an incredible job in keeping us all safe, while also informed—so, a big thank you from all of us here at Kindersley Social.
