Table Mountain Announces Opening Date

Table Mountain Regional Park, has announced its opening date for the season, following a challenging start due to unseasonably warm temperatures in early December.

The ski hill was uncertain about when they could open, but recent cold weather has brought positive news for those waiting to hit the slopes. Initially aiming for a late December opening, the park had to push this back into the new year due to the weather conditions.

In a series of social media updates, on January 4, the park acknowledged the weather had not favorable for snowmaking. They remained hopeful, however, noting an expected drop in temperature the following week.

True to their predictions, the weather improved, and on January 7, the park announced on Facebook that they were able to begin snowmaking. They also commended their crew for their dedication to ensuring a safe snowmaking season.

Despite the challenges, including temperatures plunging below -30 degrees, the snowmaking team made enough significant progress leading them to announce an opening date of January 20.

Table Mountain is located 16km west of Battleford or 29km east of Cut Knife on Highway 40, then 9.5km north and west on grid road. Table mountain can also be reached by turning off Highway 16 at Delmas and travelling 14.5km south.

Table Mountain Regional Park has something for every level of skier & rider. The 45 acres offer a wide variety of terrain from well groomed runs, to a challenging mogul run or the ever popular terrain park. With state of the art snowmaking system Table Mountain is able to provide excellent conditions from early December to the end of March.
