Prairieland Athletic Association Host Successful Cereal Sports Days

From July 23rd to 25th, the Prairieland Athletic Association (P.A.A.) held the 2021 Cereal Sports Days.

Over the course of three days, 11 baseball teams against each other, providing action-filled games.

From Williams Lake BC, Eden Valley, Morley, Medicine Hat, Buffalo, Sedalia, to Acadia Valley, the 11 teams had players from all over. The host team Boomtown Bombers won the team jackpot cash draw of $2,000 with half the prize provided of $1000 from Cereal Athletic Association and other half provided by Prairieland Athletic Association. Host team Boomtown Bombers decided to donate $1000 of the money back for a re-draw which was won by Team Ross. Pool A Winner ($500): Dying Quails, Pool B Winner ($350): Belly Pitchers, Pool C Winner ($250): Wicked.

Saturday evening saw DJ Philly P, donate his time for the dance and stage show.

The full scale audio-visual production debuted for the first time and included numerous concert special effects, high-intensity lasers, intense contrasting light show, fog/clouds, sirens, and pyrotechnics!

The night was a massive hit bringing in unexpected revenue for the new non-profit organization to help support the local rural economy and struggling small businesses!

The Prairieland Athletic Association (P.A.A.) was formed to create inclusive spaces in a welcoming environment to promote athletic interests in rural communities for all ages. In addition, they nourish the rural economy by sustaining and supporting rural facilities.

They will be hosting their next event, the 1st annual Oyen Slo-Pitch Tournament, August 20th to 22nd, with DJ Philly P hosting the Saturday night dance!
