Small businesses are critical to the Canadian economy, and right now it’s never been more important to support local businesses.
For decades the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) has hosted Small Business Week helping to highlight the impact small businesses have on the economy, while also celebrating the hard-working people behind them.
Small business owners have a lot going on. They’re focused on prioritizing business continuity, hiring the right talent to meet demands, while also protecting the health safety of their employees and customers.
This year, Small Business Week holds an even greater significance as the pandemic has brought on another set of challenges for their owners. Smaller companies have been hit the hardest as the crisis continues to radically change the business landscape. However, the pandemic has also introduced new opportunities for businesses to rethink traditional ways of working and operating models, such as turning to online and social media sources to showcase their products and services.
All year-round, but especially during small business week, it’s important to remember the hardworking individuals who bring their incredible service and businesses to our community each and every day.
