More Emergency Vehicles Permitted to Use Flashing Blue Lights
The provincial government has amended The Vehicle Equipment Regulations Act, allowing more emergency vehicles to add blue flashing lights to their existing lights.
The law is now in effect immediately and impacts: ambulances and fire-fighting vehicles; and other designated emergency vehicles. Police vehicles, tow trucks, service vehicles and snowplows were already permitted to use blue flashing lights.
Drivers are reminded that in Saskatchewan, you must slow to 60 kilometres per hour when passing emergency vehicles or tow trucks that are stopped on the roadside with lights flashing, no matter what colour they are.
