Two Drivers See Large Fines and Vehicles Impounded
One RCMP officer with Combined Traffic Services Sask., stopped two drivers this weekend along Highway 16 for exceeding the speed limit by over 50 km/hr.
First: On the evening of Friday August 12, near North Battleford, SK, the officer stopped a driver going 177 km/hr in a 110 zone.
Second: On Sunday, August 14, near Marshall, SK, the officer stopped a driver going 184 km/hr in a 110 zone.
The first driver was fined $988 and the second was fined $1,067. Both drivers had their vehicles impounded for a week.
These are reckless speeds – they endanger you (as the driver), your passengers, others on the road and wildlife!
