Facebook Marketplace Scam Part of Rosetown’s RCMP’s Calls for Service

November 3, 2023

• 5:51 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of uttering threats. Upon member arrival, complainant declined to proceed.
• 7:30 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of erratic drivers in Rosetown, SK. Members made patrols but were unable to locate the vehicles.

November 4, 2023

• 9:19 AM – Rosetown RCMP acted as mediators in a family dispute.
• 11:34 AM – Rosetown RCMP acted as mediators in a tenancy dispute in Harris, SK.
• 1:42 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 7 near Zealandia, SK. Members located the vehicle and spoke to the driver.
• 6:54 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of a semi-truck that spilled gravel on Highway 4 near Elrose. Members were unable to locate the semi.

November 5, 2023

• 1:34 AM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of unwanted individuals at a local business in Rosetown, SK. Upon member arrival, the individuals were no longer there.
• 3:43 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 7 near Rosetown, SK. Members were unable to locate the vehicle.
• 10:12 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of unauthorized use of a computer. The matter is still under investigation.

November 7, 2023

• 3:45 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a request for a well-being check in Rosetown, SK. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.
• 3:45 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of an abandoned vehicle in Rosetown. The vehicle was gone upon member arrival.

November 8, 2023

• 10:26 AM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter to a sea-can at a worksite. Fuel, copper wire, and tools were stolen. If anyone has information regarding this theft, please contact the local detachment.
• 10:48 AM – Rosetown RCMP received a report of a motor vehicle collision with a deer on Highway 4. There were no injuries – reported for insurance purposes.
• 3:52 PM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of a Facebook Marketplace scam. The matter is still under investigation.

November 9, 2023

• 5:55 AM – Rosetown RCMP received a complaint of a missing male traveling from Saskatoon to Kerrobert, SK. The male was located, and nothing further was required.

There were 35 Traffic related charges issued.
