KDAC Getting Ready for Their Performing Arts Season

The Kindersley & District Arts Council (KDAC) is getting ready for their 2022/2023 performing arts season. Their first concert this year will be Twin Flames on November 15, 2022 at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre at 7:30pm.

Building bridges across cultures, continents, and styles, Twin Flames bring together a richness of personal history and musical experience. Blending together Indigenous and western instruments, as well as their own unique sonic creations, this Multi-Award Winning duo effortlessly floats between Inuktitut, French, and English leaving audiences fascinated and inspired. Twin Flames create a sonic landscape that spans Canada’s vast country, they transcend cultural boundaries and inspire unity while honoring their ancestors’ history and Indigenous Backgrounds. Twin Flames push the boundaries of “Contemporary Folk.” Consecutive year winners of The Canadian Folk Music Award; Aboriginal Songwriters of the
Year, their songs tell stories of courage and survival. Prepare to dive into the hearts and minds of the beloved couple, we guarantee a journey like no other.

KDAC’s second concert will be Jack Semple on Friday February 10, 2023 at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre at 7:30pm.

Jack Semple has won a Juno, two Western Canadian Music awards, two Gemini nominations and the national Guitar competition “Guitar Wars”. In the last four years Jack has been touring the US with the help of manager Steve Ozark. Steve Ozark booked gigs for Jack and his band in New York (BB Kings on Times square), Memphis (Beale street Music festival), New Jersey (The record collector), Mount Baker Blues Fest, Thunder Bay Blues Fest, RBC Ottawa Blues Fest. Jack will be performing music from his award winning CD Qu’Appelle plus new songs from his latest recording “Can’t stop this love”!
