Former Klippers Alumni in Town to Watch Bruins Game
Friday, October 14th was the kick off to the Kindersley Klippers alumni weekend at the West Central Event Centre. Former alums were in attendance to watch the hometown Klippers take on the visiting Estevan Bruins.
It was a fast paced 1st period but no goals were scored. The Klippers got into some penalty trouble in the 2nd however, only 1 goal was scored against them. The better than average crowd (officially listed at 782 patrons), got a little antsy with the officiating and made their displeasure known loudly!
The 3rd period produced no better results. Good effort by the Klippers with no goals for. 1 breakaway goal and 1 empty net goal sealed the deal for the visiting Bruins. Final score was 3 to 0. Kindersley fired 37 shots at goalie Cam Hrdlicka but just couldn’t put the puck past him and the Klippers had many good chances.
Saturday featured a bunch of different activities. Dressing room tours, an alumni dinner in the curling rink, memorabilia for viewing and sale and a social after the game.
