Kindersley Museum Holds AGM
On November 8, 2022, the Kindersley and District Plains Museum held its annual general meeting.
New board member Kerry Hammel was welcomed, and then the group got down to business.
Members shared how donations were up for the year thanks to more events and visitors this year— in fact, over 3,500 visitors and 260 students visited thanks to schooling and other programming!
It was also a busy year in that the museum tractors were shown in both Eatonia and Colville for their centennial celebrations and the Kindersley Goose Festival parade. The upstairs clothing display was opened, and this summer a fashion show was held where at least 70 separate pieces of clothing were modeled.
On July 19, the Spinning Wheels riders stopped at the museum, where a bbq and silent auction were held. The group started in Victoria, B.C. and biked to Newfoundland with the aim of bringing awareness and raising funds for Parkinson’s research.
Now that the snow has started flying, the volunteers are looking forward to holding the annual Christmas Museum of Lights event. Currently the dates are December: 2, 3, 10, 11, 16, and 17 from 7pm-9pm. If you would like to volunteer with help putting up lights, please text 306-460-4760!
