Klippers vs Flin Flon

By Kevin Martin

It was the best of games; it was the worst of games. The visiting Flin Flon Bombers took the Jrs by a score of 4 to 2 on Friday night, however the tide changed on Saturday evening. The Klippers were bent on evening up the series and boy, did they ever!

The first period ended with the score tied at 1 despite being outshot 14 to 6. The second period saw each team exchange goals again and ended with a 2 – 2 tie. The third period was a thriller as both teams showed their spirit and were doing everything possible to win. It was Flin Flon Bomber Kenneth Marquart, who, along with his teammates, thought the puck was covered after a Klipper shot but the puck had squirted out to johnny-on-the-spot Adam Paplawski who potted his 8th goal of the season.

The crowd of 894 went crazy. Now there was almost 11 minutes left in the game where anything could happen. Fortunately, the Klippers held on during a penalty kill and goalie Logan Falk made some well timed saves as the hometown heroes won by a score of 3 to 2.

Final shots on goal were 42 to 16 in favour of Flin Flon.
