Write Out Loud Welcomes Local Writers
Write Out Loud is pleased to feature four talented local authors at Swift Current’s Lyric Theatre Wednesday, February 15, 2023.
Shaunavon’s Dianne Greenlay is the author of the award-winning historical adventure Quintspinner series and also the playwright of The Camping Guy, a Vancouver Fringe Festival audience favourite and winner of Theatre Fest One as Best Play. Most recently, she wrote and published a 7 book children’s picture book series, under the pen name of D.L. Kruse, titled the Grooty Fledermaus Read-Along series.
J. Charles Griffin of Stewart Valley is a professional genealogist and a local historian who specializes in Canadian military records and Saskatchewan homestead records. In May 2022 he published his first book titled 8th Reconnaissance Regiment (14th Canadian Hussars) a research guide and memorial book about his grandfather’s comrades. He’s also the writer and presenter for the Legion’s Veteran of the Week Program.
Wendy Brown Thienes has found a voice through writing casual observations about the world around her and reminiscing about simpler days gone by. Her (almost) weekly column, “The View from an Empty Nest”, can be found in The Shaunavon Standard. She hopes these articles, infused with subtle humour and life lessons, will be relatable and uplifting.
Lindy Enns is an indie writer and artist with a passion for storytelling in all its forms. For the past ten years, Lindy has honed her skills on various projects, ranging from epic fantasy to middle grade. Her debut novel, When Shadows Fall, releases this spring/summer. She’s also a talented digital artist and has begun selling her art on Redbubble. Lindy was born and raised in Herbert and currently resides in Regina.
Write Out Loud commences 7:00 p.m., February 15 at Swift Current’s Lyric Theatre. Admission is $8. Doors open at 6:30.
