Obituaries: Kenneth ‘Ken’ Wilfred Mock

Kenneth passed away peacefully on Feb. 2 at the KLD Wellness center with his family by his side.

Kenneth Wilfred Mock was born Oct. 15, 1939 in Kerrobert, Sask. to Anton and Barbara (Tuchscherer) Mock, a big brother for Wilbert, Ray, Linda and Gordon. The family lived on a rented farm about 6 miles west of Broadacres. They attended Roselynn country school by horse and buggy. In 1956 the family bought a farm 1 mile east of Broadacres and that summer the family was busy moving, lot, stock and even a building or two.

He loved farming and the farm way of life, along with farming Ken painted many a house with Mervin Norris. His favorite sport was curling, and he played many games here in Kerrobert.

When Ken and Wilbert were on the farm after the folks moved to Kerrobert they enjoyed visiting and playing cards with the neighbors. With declining health the farm land was rented out. Ken enjoyed watching and occasionally helping the neighbors when he could. They lived on the family farm until 2020 when they moved into Kerrobert.

He is survived by his beloved wife Diane; son: Roy (Colette) Ashley (Jordan), Morgan; son: Jason (Shauna) Zoe, and Brielle; brother Gordon; sister Linda, her children Tim, Loretta (Pat) Thibault and their daughter Shelby; sister-in- laws; Irene Mock, Beverley Kraft, Maryann Germann (Jody), brother-in-laws; George Kraft, Ron (Rose) Kraft, Don Kraft; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Anton and Barbara, brothers Raymond and Wilbert, sister-in-law Karen, his in-laws Peter and Marianna Kraft, and brother-in-law Paul (Larry) Kraft.

Memorial Mass Friday, February 10th 2023 at 1:30 p.m. Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Kerrobert, Saskatchewan with Rev. Father Dan Yasinski as celebrant.
