NHL: Today is ‘Busiest Day’ in League’s History
The NHL is set for an unprecedented day of action on today, April 8, with 16 games scheduled. This will be the first time in NHL history that all 32 teams will play on the same day. The day will begin with the Carolina Hurricanes facing off against the Buffalo Sabres at 9:30 a.m. PT/12:30 p.m. ET, and will conclude with the Colorado Avalanche taking on the LA Kings at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET.
Several wild card races will be decided today, with the Calgary Flames playing the Vancouver Canucks and the Nashville Predators taking on the Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference. In the Eastern Conference, the Pittsburgh Penguins will play the Detroit Red Wings, the New York Islanders will host the Philadelphia Flyers, and the Florida Panthers will face off against the Washington Capitals.
This historic day of NHL action will take place just a week before the regular season concludes on April 14, which will feature only two games, and the playoffs are set to begin on April 17.
