Local Family Invited on Stage With Brett Kissel
Brett Kissel performed to a packed West Central Events Centre on Friday. Choosing to include
small towns in his new tour The Compass Project Brett spoke to how there is something special
about the atmosphere of small prairie towns that can’t be beat.
For local family Brandy and Codey Richardson it was extremely special. Brett called upon the
young kids in the front to join him on stage. Included in that was 4-year-old Kesler, 20-month-old
Brextyn, and 3-month-old Tenley Richardson.
Mother Brandy states, “It was definitely a moment and memory we will never forget to be
pulled up on stage at a hometown show in front of our family and friends.”
The Richardson’s attended a Brett Kissel concert in June of 2022 in Moose Jaw and handed Brett
a rolled-up poster during the meet and greet. As he unravelled the paper, they announced the
arrival of a new addition to the family with a poster that said, “New Brett Kissel fan arriving
January 2023.” So in small-town fashion it was only fitting that Brett got to meet now 3-month-old Tenley in person.

This hometown concert is a memory the Richardson family will cherish forever. With loads of
pictures and videos of the moment, they will be able to relive it over and over and share it with
the kids as they grow. It’s just a bit of that rural prairie magic that embodies what it means to be
from a small prairie town in Canada.
