23/24 SJHL Schedule Released
The 2023-2024 regular season schedule for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has been unveiled following the league’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The season will commence on Friday, September 22nd, featuring an action-packed lineup of five games. Among the opening matchups, the Battlefords North Stars, the reigning champions of the Canterra Seeds Cup, will host the Kindersley Klippers. Melville will face off against Estevan, Weyburn will welcome Yorkton, Flin Flon will travel to Nipawin, and the Melfort Mustangs will extend their hospitality to the La Ronge Ice Wolves at the Northern Lights Palace.
This year’s SJHL schedule will offer fans a total of 56 games. Notably, the league has included the SJHL Showcase, a highly anticipated event that will take place from November 13th to 16th in Warman, Saskatchewan. The showcase will serve as a platform for teams and players to display their skills and talents in front of scouts, adding an extra level of intensity and competition to the regular season.
SJHL Commissioner Kyle McIntyre expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, “It is an exciting time for the Saskatchewan junior hockey league.” Looking back on the previous season, McIntyre highlighted the league’s accomplishments, including a thrilling regular season, playoffs, record-breaking NCAA and Usport scholarships awarded, and the introduction of the coveted Canterra Seeds Cup.
McIntyre awaits the drop of the puck, already anticipating the beginning of another remarkable SJHL season in SJHL history.
