Come Out and Support the K-Town Toy Run
Kindersley Residents are encouraged to come out to support the “K-Town Toy Run” on Saturday, July 15.
Held in memory of Lincoln Barios, this year’s donations will be going to the West Central Crisis and Support Center.
“The Crisis Center was there when we needed support as a family. We are also aware that the Kindersley Crisis center covers a very large area of West Central Sask. and into Alberta, so we are sure that all donations would be beneficial to help others and help children who need a special toy to cheer them up. We have added the memorial as a remembrance of our grandson Lincoln Bairos who we all lost last year,” shared Joan Phinney.
Things kick off with a 10 a.m. registration. Participants are asked to bring a toy for a child along with their $25 dollar registration fee. The run’s route is approximately 280 km and will be announced at registration.
Kickstands are up at 11:30 as the Kindersley Fire Department leads riders on a parade down Main Street and past the Kindersley Manor.
For those wishing to participate in the $10 ghost hand, they are extra hands that the rider can purchase or non-riders can send with a rider to be eligible for prizes. After the ride, supper begins at 6 p.m. located at The Kindersley Inn. Be sure to come hungry because supper consists of a buffet-style hamburger menu with all the trimmings. Door prizes and rider prizes to follow.
For further information please contact Joan Phinney at 306-460-6176 or Kelly Phinney at 306-460-6156.
Many thanks to the Kindersley Fire for donating their time to the parade and the Kindersley Inn who has been supportive and donated the banquet room.
