Mady and Lexie Speak at the CWP
Local girl “Learning about AG with Mady,” Mady Adamson has been busy lately!
Recently she had the opportunity to speak at the CWP (Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians) conference in Regina, along side her role model, her mom!
“I got asked to go via the Ag Ministers. I met the Ag Ministers last summer and Ontario Ag Minister Lisa Thompson was the chair of the CWP, so she contacted us via Minister Marit this summer. She asked if my mom and I would come talk about Agriculture, our farm story, raising future leaders and what I see as a young female entrepreneur.”
Happy to oblige, Mady discussed the farm, business, the AG industry, AG education, regulations and policy, the next farming generation, and the overall understanding of where your food comes from.
Michelle Conroy, MLA for Miramichi at Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, took to social media to express her enthusiasm for Mady’s knowledge on farming. “…Yesterday’s highlight was the sweetest, smartest and most articulate little 11-year-old I’ve ever met with her mom, Lexie. Mady is a fifth generation crop farmer and she be is showing the world what farming is all about and the importance of local farming. The passion and focus on this little influencer is phenomenal.”
Senator Amina Gerba described Mady as having “remarkable charisma and leadership.” While Laura Ross, MLA for Regina Rochdale, shared that she was “thrilled to meet Mady,” and that she is doing phenomenal work promoting agriculture to not only young girls, but people of all ages across the country.
Way to go Mady, we can’t wait to see where you go next!
